Some conversations leave you inspired. Others leave you changed.
At Centific, we turned International Women’s Day into a launchpad for change. The Empower Her panel brought together women who have navigated challenges, redefined leadership, and pushed boundaries in their own way. No sugarcoating, no rehearsed lines—just honest conversations about what it takes to own your space, challenge the status quo, and move forward with purpose. With Cecilia Maldonado—Partner and CRO at Latamways and Board Member of Women in Localization, steering the conversation, the panel was a masterclass in leadership, self-discovery, and collective empowerment.
Every barrier broken made way for the next bold move
And every leader on the panel had a story that resonated.
Alba Guix shared how her career pivot from science to localization became a passion-driven journey. She spoke candidly about embracing change, stepping into challenging sales roles, and learning to thrive in global teams.
Rutsuko Noda DeBels took a bold leap at just 18, moving out of Japan to carve her own path. Her journey was a testament to breaking cultural expectations, owning one’s choices, and finding confidence in discomfort.
Teresa Ortiz reflected on navigating new countries, unfamiliar languages, and steep learning curves. Her experiences shaped her leadership style—one rooted in empathy, courage, and adaptability.
Beyond their triumphs, each speaker also spoke about their doubts. Imposter syndrome? They knew it well. But instead of letting it hold them back, they reframed it—as a signal for growth, a challenge to push forward, and a reminder to lean on mentors and community support.
The AI revolution favors the fearless and the curious
The discussion wasn’t just about personal journeys. It tackled an even bigger question: What does empowerment look like in a world dominated by AI and rapid change?
The panelists made it clear: curiosity is currency in this new era. To stay ahead, it’s essential to learn the tools, challenge the trends, and ensure that innovation doesn’t just happen around you—it happens because of you.
Because in this new era, the empowered aren’t waiting for a seat at the table. They’re building the table themselves.
Empowerment is an action word
At Centific, creating space for women to lead isn’t a once-a-year conversation—it’s an ongoing commitment. Through mentorship programs, leadership forums, and initiatives that turn intention into action, we’ve built a culture where women thrive. But as our panelists reminded us, empowerment isn’t about reaching a benchmark—it’s about setting new ones. So, how do we keep raising the bar?
Make recognition a reflex, not a reminder. Success isn’t seasonal—women’s achievements deserve the same spotlight every day of the year.
Champion ambition, unapologetically. There’s no need to shrink to fit. Women belong in the room, at the table, and leading the conversation.
Expand the table. The conversation about empowerment gets louder, stronger, and more effective when men aren’t just listening but actively showing up as allies.
Centific has laid a strong foundation, and we’re proud of the strides we’ve made. But we also recognize that empowerment isn’t about standing still—it’s about pushing forward, together. Now, we accelerate toward what’s next. Learn more about life at Centific.
